Of course we offer fixed price divorce applications, but the truth is, if both you and your former partner are reasonable, you can do the divorce yourself with little help from us. The real problems start if both partners are not reasonable. In that case you have two problems: Children (the most important) and property.

A contested property settlement can see the bulk if not all of your assets consumed in legal fees. The starting point is to reach a reasonable settlement.

Property Settlement
If your partner is rational you can reach a property settlement quickly and inexpensively. If your partner is irrational, there are strategies to minimise costs. Most importantly you cannot reach an informal settlement. If a property settlement is not approved by the Family Court, it is not binding. You should take legal advice.

Maintenance
You may need help to obtain maintenance for you and your children.

Children
Children are the most important consideration. If necessary we can assist you with issues relating to:
- child residence/custody
- child contact
- child paternity

Financial agreements
A sound, happy relationship may require a financial (pre-nuptial) agreement before marriage as to how financial matters will be resolved in the event that you and your partner later separate.

Changed circumstance may demand a financial agreement during your relationship.
